YOGA HOLIDAYS ON THE ISLE OF SKYE
Yoga Studio with self-catering accommodation for up to 4 people on the North-West Isle of Skye
Situated on a beautiful sea loch, 'West House' at Stein is an old traditional stone house with its front garden running down to the shore of Loch Bay; one looks over to Dunvegan Head and on a clear day can see the Outer Hebridean island of North Uist.
Next door is the renowned Stein Inn, and the little road ends at the well-known Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant; just ten houses make up the settlement of Stein on Waternish, which was designed by Thomas Telford in 1785 for The British Fisheries Society.
Sara and Peter Paget live at West House. Sara trained at The Yoga for Health Foundation as a Yoga and a Remedial Yoga Teacher, and continues to work as a teacher here at Stein, with children, with adults young and elderly, flexible and not so flexible! Plus pregnancy and baby yoga.
At the rear of 'West House' is the stunning
YOGA STUDIO with its wooden v-lined walls and ceiling, plus a wee log burner. A spacious warm room for 4/5 people to practise yoga. It also contains a wonderful collection of books on all aspects of yoga / health / spirituality. This calm Yoga Studio is perfect for meditation, and ideal for a self-motivated form of retreat. Sara offers both introductory and intermediate yoga sessions to help advance people's practice; these are individually prepared for each practitioner according to their needs. If required, she will record a tape to aid future practice.
Also downstairs, with its own front door, is the self-catering accommodation. This comprises a large sitting room with double bed, and a log stove, with out-of-this-world sea view. Beyond this a shower room with toilet. And a small quiet bedroom at the back, with 3' wide bunk beds, which looks onto the dry-stoned walled garden at the rear. There is a more-than adequate kitchen with full cooking facilities and washing machine (washing machine is shared with the owners). A dropside cot and high chair are available if required.
Daily cost = £20 - 28 per person (according to number of people/length of stay). Under-12s half price.
Yoga sessions = £15 per hour one-to-one after first hour at £20. £7.50 - 10.00 per person per hour for 2 - 4 people.
Coming by train/coach/air. For a small charge, Peter or Sara will arrange to meet you in Portree, 23 miles away; the City Link bus service from either Inverness or Glasgow runs daily.
